Why yellow: Yellow sits directly opposite violet and blue-purple on the colour wheel. When yellow pigment is deposited into cool, dark, or blue-purple lip tissue, the two colours cancel each other at the pigment level — neutralizing the dark undertone and creating a base that lip blush colours can actually read against. Without this step, even a saturated lip blush shade is being applied through a cool dark filter, and the healed result reflects that filter, not the colour you deposited. The titanium dioxide blocks the underlying darkness from bleeding through the correction layer — yellow corrects the colour, titanium dioxide covers the depth underneath it.

Who it's for:

• Naturally dark lips (F4–F6 or hyperpigmented): Standard lip blush applied directly heals darker, cooler, or muddier than intended because the existing tissue pigmentation absorbs and alters the deposited colour. Base 1 neutralizes that tissue first so the lip blush shade heals as itself
• Cool or blue-toned lips: Clients whose natural lip tone reads distinctly blue or purple-cool — common in heavy smokers, clients with certain circulatory conditions, or simply clients whose natural lip pigmentation sits in the cool-dark range. A warm lip blush on uncorrected cool lips heals grey or muted. Base 1 removes that cool filter before colour goes in
• Previous PMU that healed too dark or cool: When a prior lip blush has healed grey, dark, or off-temperature and the client wants it corrected, Base 1 is the first session — lifting the visual temperature of the existing healed pigment before new colour is applied over it in a separate session
• Multi-session lip transformation: For very dark or heavily pigmented lips, Base 1 is applied in a dedicated neutralization session, allowed to heal fully over 4–6 weeks, then the Enhance Set colour step follows in a second session. Staging the correction and colour separately gives the most accurate and stable final result

Base 1 vs. Base 2 vs. Base 3:

• Base 1 (sharp yellow) → blue-violet cool lips — the most aggressive correction for the coolest, most purple-shifted presentations
• Base 2 (neutral orange) → dark brown-neutral lips — deeply pigmented but no strong cool shift; yellow would overcorrect here
• Base 3 (reddish orange) → warm, reddish-dark lips or grey-green residual cast from previous PMU

Critical usage notes:

• Must be diluted — never use at full concentration from the bottle
• Must be paired with Embody Mods 1–3 or shading solution — not a standalone lip colour
• Replenishment only — if you're new to the Embody method, start with the complete set
