Most PMU artists accumulate machines the way they accumulate problems: one for brows, one for lips, one they tried and didn't like sitting in a drawer. The Microbeau E.L.B. — Eyes. Lips. Brows. — is built around the premise that a single well-designed machine should cover all three without compromise. Not a brow machine that technically works on lips if you adjust the settings correctly, but a permanent makeup machine that was specifically engineered for the different demands that each procedure places on the equipment: the shallow precision of nano hair stroke brows, the gentle tissue sensitivity of lip work, the uncompromising control required near the eye.
Adjustable Stroke — The Technical Core of the E.L.B.
Stroke length is the most important mechanical variable in a PMU machine for procedure performance, and it's the feature that makes the E.L.B. genuinely versatile across procedures rather than merely adequate at them. Understanding why stroke length matters — and what "adjustable" means practically — is what separates artists who use adjustable stroke machines from artists who just dial a voltage up or down and wonder why their results aren't consistent.
Stroke length determines how far the needle extends beyond the needle tip with each cycle of the machine. Longer stroke = needle penetrates deeper per pass, deposits more pigment per pass, more aggressive in the tissue. Shorter stroke = shallower penetration, less pigment per pass, more precise and less traumatic. Here's how that plays out across the three procedures the E.L.B. is designed for:
- Brows — nano hair strokes and microblading technique (shorter stroke, approximately 2.5–3.5mm): Hair stroke brow work deposits pigment into the upper dermis in a very controlled, shallow stroke. Too long a stroke and the needle overshoots the optimal deposit depth — the pigment goes deeper than necessary, the stroke heals blurry, and the fine hair-stroke detail the technique depends on becomes a thick, poorly defined mark. A shorter stroke keeps the deposit in the superficial dermis where hair stroke detail survives the healing process intact. With the E.L.B.'s adjustable stroke, a brow artist can dial the stroke to the precise length that produces the best hair stroke quality for their specific technique and speed — rather than being locked into a fixed stroke that's a compromise between depth and precision.
- Powder brows and ombré shading (medium stroke, approximately 3.0–3.5mm): Shading technique deposits pigment across a broader area, building saturation gradually. The stroke needs to be long enough to deposit meaningfully on each pass without requiring slow, repetitive coverage, but not so long that it overworks the tissue. Medium stroke is the working range for most powder brow and ombré technique — slightly longer than hair stroke work to deposit efficiently across larger areas, slightly shorter than lip work to maintain the controlled build that gradient shading requires.
- Lips (slightly longer stroke, approximately 3.5–4.0mm): Lip tissue is different from brow skin in ways that directly affect the required stroke length. The lips are more vascular, more sensitive, and structurally thicker in the vermillion border area. Lip pigment needs to reach the correct depth in this denser tissue to retain properly — too shallow and the pigment expels during healing, producing a faded or patchy result that requires excessive touch-up work. A slightly longer stroke helps the pigment reach the target depth in lip tissue without requiring the artist to increase speed or pressure to compensate. The E.L.B.'s adjustable stroke lets artists dial in the lip-specific length rather than using their brow stroke setting on lip tissue and wondering why the retention isn't what the same pigment achieves on brow skin.
- Eyeliner (shortest stroke, approximately 2.0–2.5mm): Eyeliner work is the most anatomically demanding PMU procedure. The proximity to the eye, the thinness of the eyelid tissue, and the extreme precision required for a result that sits correctly on the lash line demand the tightest, most controlled stroke possible. A shorter stroke reduces the depth of penetration to the minimum needed for pigment retention, which reduces trauma to the delicate eyelid tissue, reduces healing complications, and gives the artist maximum control over line placement. Any machine used for eyeliner work that doesn't allow the stroke to be shortened for this specific procedure is asking the artist to use a tool designed for brow tissue on eyelid tissue — with the associated risks and reduced control that entails.

Why Artists Choose the Microbeau E.L.B.
- Adjustable stroke for all three procedures — the mechanical reason it works on brows, lips, and eyeliner correctly rather than merely adequately; not a marketing claim but a function of stroke length's role in PMU deposit depth and tissue trauma
- Full-colour display — settings are legible at a glance during procedures; creates an explicit feedback loop for technique development that accelerates learning
- Wireless + RCA both included — operational flexibility from day one without additional purchases; wireless for studio and travel, RCA for extended sessions and dedicated power supply setups
- Low-vibration Microbeau performance — reduces hand fatigue over long sessions, improves placement consistency throughout a procedure, reduces compensatory grip patterns that develop with high-vibration machines
- Lightweight ergonomics — designed for the sustained precision hold that PMU requires, not for the larger movements of body tattooing; balanced weight distribution matters over two-hour brow and lip procedures
- Professional performance at accessible price — $299.99 is not an entry-level machine cost, and the E.L.B. does not perform like one; it is the professional microblading machine for artists who need serious equipment without a flagship budget
- Built to grow with you — technique developed on the E.L.B. transfers directly to professional practice; students are not training on a throwaway
The Microbeau E.L.B. is the permanent makeup machine for the PMU artist who works across procedures, values adjustability over simplicity, and wants one reliable piece of equipment that handles the full range of what a complete PMU menu requires — from the fine-detail demands of eyeliner work to the tissue sensitivity of lip procedures to the stroke precision that quality brow work depends on. Available in four colours. Includes wireless and RCA connectivity. Built by a manufacturer whose machines are in professional studios and training academies across North America.
