Matrix Genesis is a Canadian-made cartridge line built for artists who want consistency they can feel — tight tolerances, smooth membrane action, and the same needle behavior from the first box to the hundredth.
Four needle configurations cover most of what you'll do in a typical session:
- Round Liner (RL) — clean, single-pass lines and outline work
- Round Shader (RS) — packing color, dot work, soft fills
- Soft Edge Magnum (SEM) — blending and gradient transitions without a hard edge
- Magnum (MG) — large-area saturation, color packing, black-and-grey work
Most configurations come in long taper across all sizes (better for slow-flow color work and detail), with #08 and #10 diameters being the most-used for everyday work. Each box contains 20 cartridges of a single configuration.

What's the difference between Matrix Genesis and Matrix PMU cartridges?
Genesis is for general tattoo work — color packing, lining, shading, black-and-grey. PMU cartridges are built specifically for permanent makeup procedures (brows, lips, eyeliner, SMP) where you need shorter strokes and finer needle groupings.
Are Matrix Genesis cartridges safety membrane sealed?
Yes. Each cartridge has an internal membrane that prevents ink backflow into the machine grip — the standard requirement for any modern cartridge system.
What taper should I pick — long or medium?
Long taper feeds ink slower and gives a softer needle entry — better for color packing, smooth shading, and skin-saving on long sessions. Medium taper is more traditional, faster ink flow, and tends to be the safer pick if you're switching from older needle systems.
