Matrix PMU Cartridges are built specifically for permanent makeup and scalp micropigmentation — not general tattoo work. The needle groupings are tighter, the strokes are shorter, and the ink delivery is calibrated for the lighter touch PMU work requires.
What you'll find here:
- Round Liner groupings from 01RL up to 03RL — single-needle precision for hair strokes, eyeliner pulls, and fine lip outline
- Long and Medium taper options — long taper for slower, controlled pigment deposit; medium for faster work like SMP dots
- Universal cartridge fitting — works with rotary PMU pens that accept standard cartridges
The Sample Box is the low-commitment way to test the line — one of each configuration, so you can see which sits best in your machine and on your client's skin type before ordering in bulk.
Common uses
- Microblading-style hair stroke brows (manual or machine work)
- Eyeliner — top and bottom lash line
- Lip neutralization, lip blush, full lip color
- Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) — density work and hairline simulation
- Areola restoration and camouflage work
FAQ
What's the difference between Matrix PMU and regular tattoo cartridges?
PMU cartridges have tighter needle groupings (mostly 01RL and 03RL), shorter strokes, and softer ink delivery. Regular tattoo cartridges are built for deeper, more aggressive pigment deposit. Using a standard tattoo cartridge for PMU work usually goes too deep and causes pigment migration.
Can I use Matrix PMU cartridges for body tattoo work?
Technically yes, but you'll fight the cartridge. The needle exposure and ink flow are calibrated for facial PMU — fine detail, shallow deposit. For body tattoo work, use Matrix Genesis instead.
What machine works best with Matrix PMU cartridges?
Any rotary cartridge machine with a universal fitting will accept them. PMU-specific pens (Bishop Wand, Cheyenne Sol Nova Unlimited, FK Irons Spektra Flux PMU) are ideal because of finer stroke adjustment, but any standard rotary works.
Are PMU cartridges safe for procedures around the eyes?
Yes — Matrix PMU cartridges are membrane-sealed (no ink backflow into the grip), which is the safety standard for any procedure near sensitive areas. Combined with proper PMU protocol on your end, they're suitable for eyeliner and brow work.
How long do unopened cartridges last?
Sealed Matrix cartridges are good for 5 years from the manufacture date stamped on the box.
